W A N D E R L U S T is a gritty dramatic musical narrative written & directed by hip hop artist, Caktuz. This 3 episode mini-series follows the story of a street hustler turned wandering musician, coming back to his mysterious hometown (High Point, NC) that is now stricken with an ominous presence that drives it’s infected to violent acts of blind rage.
Upon return Caktuz struggles with his tumultuous past with local street boss, Miss Mamma Bird, and his own smoldering demons. While taking refuge in his music (Hip Hop) and a steamy love affair with ex-lover, Starr, he vows to escape once again by any means. On the road, Life & death are but a shot away. Sometimes we lose ourselves, to find our way.
Musically driven in the likes of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, The Beatles’ “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”, or Prince’s “Purple Rain”; W A N D E R L U S T is a 120 minute film with an accompanying soundtrack encompassing a variety of genres including pop, blues, rock, soul, funk, EDM, and trap. It features guest vocals from [Blaque] Bird, Evil Twin, Jay Mail, Mic Blaque, Path P., Blizzy Bambu, as well as production from Ronve’, BenNY FoxMORE, Sille Star, Mickey Freeman, and the DOPESH!TE.

This country strange fruit has been tearing down stages from NYC to the UK, pushing his infectious brand of music-art onto the world. Grandson of James Brown protege’, singer Johnny Scotton (Polydor Records 1975), Cak is a ‘Carolina blues man’ by blood. A big fish in a small pond since 13, this High Point NC country boy took his dreams to Brooklyn, NY. With his multiple talents & street hustler savvy he quickly immersed himself into the NY music scene and founded the performance art band, DRX, which featured as an aftershow act for Melvin Van Peebles’ award winning Broadway play Ain’t Supposed To Die A Natural Death. Weaving musical performance & live art into his stage shows, set him apart from other artists in the ferociously competitive NY underground.
Caktuz soon became a rising indie artist releasing 3 independent albums, 2 UK tours, a single with Sony Red imprint We Build Hits, and working with a string of top artists as Akon, Kardinal Offishal, Bilal, M.O.P., Dead Prez, Boot Camp Clik, SA-RA, Sadat X, Young Guru (Jay-Z), Shorty Corleone (Rare Essence), Chink Santana, to Award Winning actor Michael K. Williams.
